Patient handling solutions are designed to minimise the risk of injury to both carer and patient, however using faulty or inadequate equipment can lead to injuries. To this end it is important to ensure all equipment is maintained and inspected. Under Lift Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998 all items of personal lifting equipment must be inspected every 6 months
During a LOLER inspection our engineers will visually assess the condition of a sling, checking the integrity and condition of the material and stitching. They will also check the label attached which gives the safe working capacity and the date of the last LOLER examination and the due date of the next one as well as the washing instructions..
Our Engineers have been on courses with sling manufacturers and are fully competent in maintaining and inspecting slings to the standards specified by the manufacturer.
